Allergy Alert Testing is an important element of your client’s colour journey, and understanding your policy, and the correct processes involved, is paramount to client safety. 

Here, you can find all of our Wella Professionals resources relating to our Allergy Alert guidance, including many that have been updated in March 2021 to help you successfully navigate reopening your salon to colour clients after lockdown. The Allergy Alert Test: At a Glance  (updated March 2021) is a 3-page PDF document which provides a summary of our Wella Allergy Alert policy, recent FAQ’s including Covid-19 guidance, some examples of client scenarios and the Allergy Alert Questionnaire presented in the form of an easy-to-follow flowchart. A handy document to keep to hand in the salon or place on the wall of your colour room!

The Allergy Alert Refresher (updated March 2021) is a video version of the above: a short 5 minute re-cap on what our Wella Allergy Alert policy is and how to undertake an Allergy Alert Test on the client’s skin. It includes examples of client scenarios and Covid-19.

The Allergy Alert Record Card is a PDF 2-sided document designed for you to use with your clients in salon, to record details of their Allergy Alert Tests. It includes the Allergy Alert Questionnaire which should be carried out with every colour client during consultation.

Top 5 Questions (created March 2021) is a more detailed 20 minute video explaining the ‘2 golden rules’ of Allergy Alert Testing, and the top 5 questions we receive: has the policy changed? Does Covid-19 affect the policy? Do I have to skin test for bleaching services? How do you perform an Allergy Alert Test? What if my client has used box colour?

Introduction to Hair Tests is a short 5 minute video explaining some of the essential tests you should be considering prior to technical services, including strand tests, elasticity tests and porosity tests.

Reopening Tips is a PDF document with a little more detail on why consultation is key for clients returning to the salon after lockdown, as well as tips for how to manage the increased need for Allergy Alert Testing in your busy salon.

Hair Color Facts Leaflet is a more detailed PDF document explaining the science behind allergies, and the scientific link between hair colour and allergies / scalp discomfort. It also includes more technical FAQs and the AA Questionnaire.
